Luke's Desert Speeder

Hi. I am Bryce. This is a picture of Lego's "Luke's Desert Speeder". The minifigures that came with it are R2-D2, C-3PO, Luke, Obi-Wan (Ben) Kenobi, a sentry droid and a sand trooper. The set came with a light saber for Luke instead of a gun. It has a light saber holder. The droids sit in the back. The sand trooper sits in the back with light saber shaft pieces on his back.

Birthday Boy

My birthday was on March 14th, and I went to Chuck E. Cheeses to celebrate. One of my friends gave me a Hex Bug Ant. A hex bug ant is a robotic bug that senses touch and starts moving in the other direction. I won 291 tickets at Chuck E. Cheeses, and got to play Deal or no Deal there and got 12 tickets. It was the best birthday ever!

Playing with friends at the park

We have gone a couple times to this really fun park in Petal, about 30 minutes away. This picture does not capture all of it either. We have only gone on weekday mornings so poor Bryce hasn't been able to go yet. School gets out in a week. ;)
Here are some fun times:

Southern Miss Centennial Graduation

The University of Southern Mississippi, where George teaches, had their centennial celebration this year. They had a special graduation commencement with all the faculty and graduating students together at The Rock (football stadium) last Saturday. George said it was pretty hot where he sat, in the sun. The University gave Rudy Giuliani an honorary doctorate.
Rudy Giuliani spoke at commencement.
George stands next to Brett Favre's locker. George is wearing his Grandpa Hudman's robes.

Berry Pickin'

Every May we get a lot of wild berries that ripen in our yard. The kids and I spent the morning picking a bunch of them. The briers are very prickly, so it was helpful to wear gloves. I hope to bake a pie or cobbler or something.

Here's the Frog Proof

Here's Lyndy with another frog that she caught. She says, "My frog's name is Stone." I am going to find and buy a good book about frogs - not some cheesy kids' one, but one written by an expert on frogs.

Scott's Golden Bionicle

I've been collecting LEGO action figures called "Bionicles" (BI-ON-i-cols). All six of these ones have a piece of golden armor (there's WAY more than six Bionicles). I've collected all six and here's what it looks like on Tahu(TA-hoo). There's also white Takanuva, green Gresh, blue Piraka, black Skrall and yellow Rahkshi (tac-on-UV-a, GREESH, per-AK-a, SCRAL and RAC- shee. You'll see them in the picture below. There I am in the background. I'm the one who made him. I also made the other guys. Oh, and this series is called Bionicle Stars, "great heroes arise from the past"and I swear I've seen Tahu, Skrall and Gresh somewhere else.

Reviving an old Blog

Obviously, not much happened with this blog when I first started it. I didn't ever get into it, then I started a different blog. I am going to try to revive this one and teach my kids how to blog. They will enter various thoughts or creations, post pictures and such. I want to help them have another way to express themselves and thought blogging would be a fun way to do that. Here's to hoping it works!!

Bryce on the Playground

Bryce on the playground in our back yard. He was posing for photographs and as always looks really cute when he does that.

Kids in a wagon

Here's the whole gang in a wagon, ready for a ride.

Strutting

Scott shows us a silly way to walk. Is he trying to imitate the dinosaur on his shirt?

Fun with dirt

Bryce had fun in our front yard and is proudly showing how dirty he can get.

Swingin'

This is Darla in the backyard on the swing. She is so happy she is shouting for joy!
